Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing solar lamps to off-grid communities. This project continue to be of urgent importance to communities without electric connection because it enable families to continue on with their activities even if it is already early night. Children can study and the rest of the family members can do productive activities. Supply of sturdy solar lamps is not difficult to procure and our approach now in distributing the lamps is to get repayments from the beneficiaries with the cost of the lamp. In this way are able to assist additional beneficiaries from the reflows. Aside from the lamp distribution, this reporting period we train 75 youth members of family-recipients in vegetable gardening using open spaces in their backyard. In this way the family can have fresh vegetables the whole year round.
Again thank you very much for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

distribution of piglets
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support providing solar lamps to very poor families living off-grid. The project is indeed very important especially for children in school who needs to study at night as well as for parents to do chores and livelihood activities. During this reporting period, we expanded the impact of the project by providing small farm-based livelihoods to 72 beneficiaries living in 2 remote villages here by providing them with piglets that they will raise for the market. Piglets are easy to raise and they can be fed with organic materials found around the farm such as root crops, nitrogenous leaves and kitchen waste. Aside from the piglets, we also provided them with vegetable seeds that they can raise in order to improve their nutrition and income. Small is beautiful is the keyword here and the ripples of impact is indeed very encouraging.
Again thank you very much for your generosity.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

green charcoal production
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our project providing much-needed solar lamps to families living without electrical connections here. These families living in remote barrios are very much disadvantaged especially children who are in school and who need to study in the evenings. Without solar lamps, they can do nothing and their grades and chances in life suffer. During this reporting period, we devise an expanded strategy of not only providing solar lamps but also improving the overall economic situation of our beneficiaries by providing them with alternative livelihoods in order to expand their economic base. One of the promising livelihoods here is the production of green charcoal coming from twigs and branches of trees which naturally regenerates providing steady and sustainable incomes. The charcoal is sold to be used in small industries such as bread making in the city and commands high price. We have supported a total of 8 families in this manner.
Hoping for your continuing support to our project.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
