Marawi City evacuees
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative to provide solar lights for very poor off-grid families. This project continue to provide tremendous benefits to those who are really in need of light for their livelihood, study and play for children and a lot of other activities that could not be done without light. The best thing with solar light is that it does not need energy from expensive sources. This reporting period we focus our support to 175 poor families evacuating from the conflict in Marawi City which is caused by ISIS-inspired Muslim militants. The evacuees stay with relatives or go back to their homes and some of them are in dire need of light. We provided the solar lamps together with food and hygiene kits that we distributed.
Again thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Children with their solar lamps
Dear Friends,
Warm greetings and thank you for your continuing support to our project to provide solar-powered lights for off-grid communities. I am happy to inform you that this reporting period we are able to provide 330 solar-powered lamps to 330 families living in off-grid communities. Feedback from our beneficiaries shows that they are very happy using the solar-powered lights. From an initial focus of distributing larger and more expensive lamps, we also included smaller, cheaper ones in order to reach-out to more beneficiaries. Solar lamps is very much needed here and is indeed very useful for children to be able to study at night and for other family members to be able to do household chores.
Again, thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Roadside social enterprise
Dear Friends,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to provide solar-powered light to families without electricity here. This project is off to a good start with us able to access volume of solar light from a nearby city. Our approach is social enterprise in that we engage small entrepreneurs so that they sell and distribute our products to local clients who either pay in cash installment or pay in kind such as paying with small animals like chickens and goats. The in-kind payment we also disperse to neighboring families for them to take care of and get the offspring. The choice solar light that our clients like is the one that comes with a radio where they can listen to much-needed news in the barrios.
Again thank you very much and hoping you inform your friends and colleagues about this wonderful initiative.
With much gratitude,
Cora Sayre
