Providing training assistance

Training on vegetable processing

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous assistance to our project providing solar-powered lights to off-grid communities. This reporting period we are focusing our efforts to providing continuing assistance to previous beneficiaries of our solar lamps by assisting them in their livelihoods. With the solar lamps they are able to become productive for longer periods and thus it is imperative that livelihood opportunities will also improve. This time around we are focusing on the youth and providing them training in food processing with the vegetables they gather from their gardens. This is with the aim of marketing their surplus vegetables cooked already in order to generate additional income rather than when they sell the surplus raw. Thirty youth attended our training and we are happy to note that 22 of them are now starting their vegetable food selling business.

Hoping for your continuing generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora
