We will provide food, water, health, sanitation and hygiene support for 2,500 poor families affected by the earthquake occurring on June 8, 2026. We will start will the provision of basic needs like water filters for drinking water and tarps for shelter and then provide small livelihoods so that beneficiaries will be able to grow their own food. We will focus on poor farming villages in hardest affected areas, with focus in General Santos City and Glan and Malapatan in Sarangani Province.
The massive earthquake that occurred June 8, 2026 have destroyed homes, properties and livelihoods across Mindanao. Affected residents live in fear of aftershocks and secondary occurrence and there is a need to provide food, shelter and other needs. Water filter is very much needed too as water sources are compromised. Long-term support will be assisting the survivors with livelihood and food production inputs so that they will be able to grow their own food.
We will provide food, shelter and other needs and focusing on remote, hard to reach villages in General Santos City and in the municipalities of Glan and Malapatan in Sarangani Province. Sometimes support comes only in areas near the roadside and we will consider them last priority. A large component of our response will be to promote livelihoods like vegetable gardening among the affected families so that they are able to improve their nutrition and income.
Long-term recovery is our end-goal and we can do this with our proven water and sanitation and small livelihood intervention especially focused in remote, hard to reach villages. The well-being and health of those affected by the earthquake is our primary concern.
