We here at East Mississippi Animal Rescue could never thank you enough for your continued support of our cause. GlobalGiving has allowed us to reach so many gracious animal lovers than ever before and we value your commitment to our organization. Your generous donations allow us to help animals that may not have had any other chance. Today, we want to tell you about Higgins, a 6 month old Aussie/Shepherd mix, and show you how your support and donations help make a difference every day.
Higgins was found in a field, lying helpess and alone. He had a gunshot wound to his leg and was unable to move. He was rescued, brought into our care, and began his journey to a happy ending. Despite his physical condition, Higgins was gracious and loving. It was as if he knew he was in the hands of people who would take care of him. We fell hard for him instantly. Higgins made his first trip to the veterinarian to get a complete and total check up, including vaccinations and a neuter surgery. Everyone at the vet's office loved him! It was during this visit to the vet that we found out Higgins's leg was unable to be saved; the vet had no other option but to amputate. Following his surgery, Higgins made a speedy recovery. He was up and moving without a care in the world! Once he was fully healed and ready to be adopted, he was posted online and and found his happy ending soon after!
Higgins now lives in beautiful Miramar Beach, Florida. He enjoys long walks on the beach and listening to the waves roll in on the shore.
