Marley Before & After
Marley Before & After

Hello again from East Mississippi Animal Rescue! We hope this report finds you happy and well. As the summer begins and many people look forward to their vacations, we are hard at work here at the rescue. Your unwavering support has allowed us to continue our mission here in Mississippi - where it seems the work is neverending.

Today, we'd like to focus on how your donation helps when it comes to grooming animals in our care. While all animals in our care receive basic grooming such as bathing and brushing, there are some who require a little extra in order to get them looking and feeling healthy again.

Cinder and Marley are two dogs who have recently received care from our organization. Both dogs came in severely matted and in need of some serious TLC. For dogs, grooming isn't just about looks. Proper grooming and hygiene helps keep dogs healthy and prevent serious problems. The matted hair you see on Cinder and Marley can often lead to skin irritation and wounds, as well as providing a space for fleas and ticks to hide, among other problems.

Your donations help us purchase grooming supplies such as shampoos, skin treatments, dog clippers, and blades. Blades can grow dull, especially after cases such as these two, and often need to be replaced.

As you can see, proper grooming and care made a huge difference for Cinder and Marley. Not only do they look better but they literally had weight lifted off and feel so much better!

Thank you for continuing to support our rescue mission. Cinder and Marley say "Thank you!" as well!

Hello from the team at East Mississippi Animal Rescue! We're checking in today to once again let you know how your donations help provide for animals in our care.

As our project page states, your donations help to cover regular expenses including fecal examinations, heartworm tests, spay and neuter procedures, vaccinations, heartworm treatments, emergency surgeries, and more. We firmly believe in spaying and neutering all animals in the care of our facility. Not only does spaying and neutering prevent unwanted litters, but it can also help protect against some serious health problems.

We know you like to see how your donations are specifically impacting our mission and today we'd like to tell you more about Ivy, Olive, and Violet

Ivy, Olive, and Violet are 6 week old sister puppies. We believe they are chihuahua-dachshund mix. They were surrendered to our organization by their owner when they were 5 weeks old and will be with us for at least 6 more weeks until they are ready for adoption. This means they will require necessary vaccinations, deworming, and spay surgeries before they can go to their forever homes. Your donations will also assist with basic needs and costs of care including food, supplies, and facility utilities.

If you are interested in learning more about the animals in our care or may be interested in potentially becoming an adopter, please reach out to us for more information. We are happy to speak with you!

Greetings from the team at East Mississippi Animal Rescue! We hope the summer months have been treating you well. Summer often brings trips and vacations for so many of us, which means adoption rates slow, but intake seems to continue nevertheless. Needless to say we remain very busy!

Today, we want to share with you another story of how your donation helps care for abandoned and neglected animals in our area. Prior to being rescued, Cosmo, Jade, and Shadow had spent the majority of their lives confined to dog crates. They had limited interaction with people which resulted in poor socialization. They simply don't know how to receive love and affection from a human being.

Cosmo, Jade, and Shadow were in a severe state of neglect. They were in desperate need of baths and grooming. All three dogs were so badly matted that the only option was to remove the matts and shave them.

Now that they are feeling better, we have been focusing our time on helping them adjust to normal life. We are currently working with them to improve socialization skills and teach them that human touch can be kind and welcomed. It will take time, but it will be worth it. Hopefully one day soon they will be ready to be welcomed into loving families where they can begin the rest of their lives.

Be sure to follow us on social media in order to stay up to date on their progress. You can also check out other adoptable animals who are ready for their forever homes right this very moment.

Thank you for continuing to support our mission. We can never express how much gratitude we have for you and your faith in the work we do!

Greetings from East Mississippi Animal Rescue! We hope life is treating you well. Thank you for your continued support of our cause. We continue to work daily to provide care for animals in need in our community.

Today, we'd like to share with you how your donations help us to provide care for animals who remain in our care for longer periods of time. For various reasons, there are some dogs who never quite find that perfect forever home of their own. Maybe it's temperment, maybe it's a medical issue, and maybe, the right family just hasn't come along. These animals continue to require routine care including food, baths, grooming, and medication. Periodically they require updated vaccinations. Your donations allow us to fund these costs and help these animals remain healthy while in our care.

Here are a few of the dogs who have been in our care for an extended period of time. If you are interested in adopting or would simply like more information about one of the dogs shown in this report, please reach out to us. We'd love to tell you more!

Greetings from the team at East Mississippi Animal Rescue! As we near the end of January, we hope your year is off to a great start and you continue to stay safe and healthy.

We remain busy - working to help animals in our area never seems to slow down. There always seems to be an animal in need, which is why your support and donations are so important to us.

On January 8th of this year, we took in a stray dog from Ackerman, Mississippi - he is now known as "Ozzie". Ozzie has already had a rough year. When he was found, he had been shot several times resulting in wounds to his throat, buttocks, and side. He is also completely blind.

We are diligently working with our veterinarian partner to nurse Ozzie back to good health. He has a long way to go, but he's on his way. We hope to have him feeling brand new soon so he can make his way to a happy home and a family of his own.

Your donations will help us cover the costs of Ozzie's vet care and ensure he is able to heal properly. Thank you for helping us help Ozzie.
