Two-Week Progress Update -Saplings

By Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana | Project Leader

Dear Patron,

We are pleased to share an update from our nursery after two weeks of growth. Thanks to your generous support, our 50,000-tree reforestation project is progressing very well.

 Nursery Progress

  • All seedlings have now been successfully placed into plastic nursery bags, where they receive daily care.

  • The saplings are showing strong early growth with healthy germination throughout the nursery beds.

  • Our team continues watering, shading, and monitoring to ensure strong root development and proper growth.

 Nursery Location

Our nursery is located in Burega Sector, close to Buyoga Sector in Rulindo District.

Coordinates:

  • Latitude: -1.7102845

  • Longitude: 30.0274603

  • Plus Code: 72QG+VXP Buyoga

 What the Photos Show

  • Thousands of seedlings thriving in neatly arranged plastic nursery bags

  • Organized nursery beds filled with young, healthy plants

  • Our team actively working to maintain the best growing conditions

 Your Impact

Because of your support, these young trees will soon help to:

  • Restore degraded land

  • Improve soil fertility

  • Prevent soil erosion and reduce flooding risks

  • Protect biodiversity

  • Support climate resilience across the community

  • Strengthen youth and community involvement in environmental protection

 Next Steps

Over the coming weeks, we will:

  • Continue watering and maintaining shade structures

  • Thin and space seedlings as they grow

  • Prepare community planting sites

  • Begin transplanting at the start of the rainy season to ensure high survival rates

 A Note of Gratitude

We are deeply grateful for your support. Your generosity is already creating visible impact on the ground. As we continue with these activities, your partnership remains essential.

If you are able, please consider becoming a recurring monthly donor to help sustain this work and expand our impact.

With gratitude,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
