We thank the donors for committing to the My Jungle - Participatory Forest Conservation. Also, we are grateful to the GlobalGiving for providing the platform to spread a word about our work and fundraising.
Community Survey
to ensure active participation of the community, questionnaire surveys have been taken in Mandangad block of Ratnagiri District. A total of 263 people participated and 109 villages covered during the survey. This survey gathered very useful data related to wildlife and human coexistence.
Biodiversity Survey
Two qualitative biodiversity surveys completed in Panhali and Choravane village of the region. Along with rare and endemic butterfly species, various endemic species of flora found during the survey.
Plantation drives
Removal of weeds, fertilizers and other supportive activities are done for better survival chances of trees planted previously. SNM is getting very good support in tree planting activities across the region.
Alternate Livelihood
One wild honeybee colony capturing training session held in Poor village. Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra is always supportive towards sustainable livelihood practices; we are regularly monitoring homestay and ecotourism initiatives driven by locals.
