Awareness
Awareness programme held in various schools on various topics such as afforestation, the importance of trees jungle, Species found nearby forest region and their importance, snake awareness etc. Many of the school’s students had set up the awareness play for conservation and importance of the jungle for the nearby other schools and villages under the guidance of Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra. Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra Visited at Shingari, Dahivali, Birmani, kalmani villages of Ratngiri and olambi village of raigadh to meet villagers to aware about the deforestation and threat to the species such as Indian Pangolin an Endangered species, leopard, Mouse dear etc for a multiple of private and government development projects. Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra has continued meeting and interaction with local for the conservation of forest and species.
Photo Exhibition – Awareness through the photo exhibition held on 26th to 27th June 2018 at Brahman Sahyak Sangh Hall Chilplun, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra, India. Photos were captured in camera trap used during jungle survey using camera trap. A huge number of school students and local people approximately 2000 people had visited with curiosity to know about the species found nearby the jungle areas and the role of this species to maintain ecological balance for better survival of us.
Documentation of Wildlife
The Camera Trap set up in the nearby jungle and forest areas to survey the area. Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra visit Time to time to retrieve the data from the camera to and the proper documentation of the data is doing on regular basis. Documentation of such biodiversity which is trapped in the camera trap is necessary for conservation perspective and awareness in the present generation.
Tree Plantation
Trees are playing a very vital role to maintain ecological balance according to the habitat. Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra with the help of local community started Native tree plantation at Choravane village, Khed taluka, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra, India. Native plants are identified such as Sathvin (Alstonia scholaris), Tamhan(Lagerstroemia speciosa), Kashid(Peltophorum pterocarpum), Pimpal(Ficus religiosa) etc is planting with the help of local people and student.
Visit Honeybee farm
Honeybees are one of the important insects in the world because they produce one-third part of the world’s foods and fruits through pollination. Conservation prospective Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra is in the process to provide native honeybees in the villages which are nearby forest area. As a source of livelihood as well as it will help villagers to increase their agriculture productivity by 35-40% during agriculture period later this honeybee will help in the restoration of the nearby forest through pollination in a natural way. Sahyadri Nisarg Mitra had visited Dhanu at honeybee farm to better understand about honeybees that in future villagers get a source of livelihood and conservation will happen in a natural way.
