Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra (SNM) is very much thankful to our donors for supporting My Jungle- Participatory Forest Conservation Project. The project activities are running smoothly and getting good support from locals.
SNM had done the following activities from May to August 2021.
- Pre-Monsoon caretaking activities like de-weeding and fertilizer providing were done. The local community participated in these activities.
- Tree Plantation drive executed in June 2021. Total 150 plants were planted by efforts of SNM employees, volunteers and local participants.
- Fertilizers were provided to newly planted plants after one month.
- Camera traps are deployed to study the local faunal diversity.
We faced devastating floods on 22nd & 23rd July in Chiplun city and adjacent area in which our office, furniture, computers, laptops, vehicles and other equipments got damaged. We have resumed our office work but still many activities are on hold due to limited equipments & resources. We are hoping that will be able to fully resume all project activities by end of September 2021.
Once again thank you for your keen support.

Awareness session fir students
We are very happy to share our quarterly progress report of our project My Jungle. We are starting to restart all field activities restricted due to Covid lockdown. We are taking all the precautions regarding Covid-19, and hope you are also doing well. Here are some activities are done during the last quarter-
We have done seasonal monitoring of plants, weed removal, and fertilizers given to the plants. Camera traps are also deployed in the field. Schools are also reopened, thus we have started online and offline awareness sessions for school students. Students will participate in watering the plants as did last year.
Thank you for your kind support.
