Agastya's Dhwani

Dhwani is a media program, which brings out stories from children and lets them explore and express using the medium. Storytelling is carried out through the form of filmmaking in Dhwani where the children involved explore their talents. All the stories are curated and uploaded on an online portal, for the world to see what Agastya's children are capable of doing.

Skills imparted to children

Dhwani program was conducted in 3 locations: Reaching 49 children, 30 girls and 19 boys were part of the program, They together made 9 films

Children went through the activities listed below:

  • Image, Audio and Video: Hands-on activities related to image, audio and video including introduction to internet and computers.
  • Poster making
  • Designing and creating newspapers
  • Introduction to camera
  • Story writing
  • Story board
  • Shot breakdown
  • Video shooting
  • Video editing- including sound design

The children had a great experience making the films, 5 films have been curated and the rest 4 will be curated and uploaded on the YouTube channel soon, The topics of the films the children chose to make varied from Farming, Child Labour, Organ donation to name a few.
