Thank you for your support

Dhwani is all about stories that every child has; revolving around his/her surroundings. We believe that all their stories deserve a chance to be told and we aim to achieve the same through the medium of films that are made by them, every step of the way. All the stories are curated and uploaded on an online portal, for the world to see what our children are capable of doing.

Skills imparted to children

  • Media creation
  • Digital skills
  • Basic media knowledge
  • Enriched storytelling
  • Teamwork understanding

We reached over 95 children, a total of 6 films were made which accounted for over 1524 Exposures.

School and Children Exposures

  1. PUMS- Sholinganallur: 35 children  |  Exposures: 566
  2. GHSS- Thuraippakkam: 33 children  |  Exposures: 548
  3. GHSS- Sholinganallur: 31 children  |  Exposures: 410

At our Kala Kootami fair (Art and creativity fair) held in Chennai, which was a part of our Dhwani module being carried out, young filmmakers from Chennai who were a part of the community media program were given a platform to come and share the process of Filmmaking and their experiences, and at the same time screen the films that they have made as a part of the Dhwani program. The screening sessions were followed by discussions on the subject of the films that were held by the students. This also served as an inspiration to the aspiring filmmakers to take their storytelling passion to the next level.

Kala Kootami has come a long way since its inception. Evolving and growing through each edition, the fair has traveled greater distances and reached newer corners of India, spreading the joy and wonders of arts, media, and creativity. Chennai, our final destination for the year, was bedecked with colorful impressions, vibrant walls, and echoes of laughter and excitement.

Our art and creativity fair has always aimed at creating a unique and interactive platform for government school students to display their innovative works in the field of media, arts, photography, films, and library. Every year, thousands of children participate to create and share ideas with their peers, teachers, and visitors, in turn gaining an unforgettable experience.

The two-day fair reached out to 1,119 children, 534 Girls, 488 Boys, 97 Young Instructors, and 1604 Exposures

Organized with the support of Ingersoll Rand under our community media program, Dhwani, the latest edition of Kala Kootami was yet again a creative celebration of the convergence of our Media Arts, Arts and Library programs. Hosted for the second time in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on the 6th and 7th of March 2018, this edition of the fair witnessed participation from over 1,100 children from Government High Secondary School, Medavakkam, Tamil Nadu.
