Part 1: GENERAL INFORMATION

Executive summary
We have progression on well though a low pace on the number of youth being enrolled. The education system in Uganda is back to normal and we are making similar progress like any other school in Uganda with a high hope of acheiving our enrolment target of 90.

The results of the 18 who sat the Worker's PAS examination in March 2022 are very promssing and the chance is high that subsequent enrolments for DIT examination will yile a much better result than the previous time. The are set to organise a graduation ceremony February 2023 for all the lots that have set a similar examination.

The 23 youth at school are searching for examination fees to sit for the DIT examination in late November or early December 2022 s we have maintained the below project progress:-

1.2.1 Objective 1: To provide skills training to 90 youth with at least 60% females, in different skills trade mentioned. 23 are at school attending training.

1.3:0 Project continuations

1.3. 1 With strick observnace of the Standards Operating Procedure (SOPs) at the school, we continue to have normal operations.

1.3.2 Main activities planned for November and December 2022

Project specific Objective 1: To provide vocational skills to 90 youth from Gulu district.

Activity: Education and Entrepreneurship

Activities: Training for year 2, conduct monitoring of activities, register for examinations, number of annoucement and community visits.

Outputs: Number of those enrolled - 23 ; Monitoring of activities: 1; Register for examinations: 11; Number of announcements and community visits: 2; Number of adverts made:03
Project Specific Objective 2: To provide educational scholarship for skills training to 90 youth.

Activity: provide vocational skills training

Activities: Choose partial scholarship beneficiaries and make payment for them.

Outputs: Number of beneficiaries identified and number of youth recieving the partial scholarship thus 11 student 9 females and 3 males are given schoalrship.

Project Specific Objective 3: To procure tools & equipment, and materials for students training.

Activity: Education and training

Activities: Procurement of tools, equipment and materials acquired

Outputs: Number of tools, equipment and materials acquired. No tools, equipment or material bought.

Project Specific Objective 4: To pay Tutor’s allowances

Activity: Education  and training

Activities: Pay allowances to staff: 

Outputs: Number of staff 04; payment made for October 2022 - Plan for November and December 2022 under way).

Part 2: OTHER INFORMATION

2.1: Participation

a. We expect the 23 youth who registered in term three 2022 to complete the training by 2023/12/03.          

2.3: Gender Equity

a. Gender issues remain a paramount concept in every aspect of our project and shall remain at 60:40.

2.4: Child Centeredness and Rights Based Approaches

a. We shall resume and take into consideration the approach.

2.5: Challenges, Lessons Learnt and dissemination

a. Successful and productive partnership continues to exist between GGF and FHF and other partners.

b. We have successfully completed year one of skills training for CARE International sponsored trainiess with 14 youth set to graduate.

c. A new partnership with GIZ is going to energise our agricultural department as youth will be equiped with skills for better farming practices and able to outsource funding to uplift their farming standards.

2.6: Emerging Advocacy Issues:
a. We are participating in the Advocacy programme focus on fighting stunting among children 5 years and below in Nwoya district specifically in Koch Goma sub county.

2.7: Organizational Changes:                                             

a. The Board, location staff and management structures remained in force.

b. Our website hosting and subscription is in active operation until 2022/11/29
c. Staffs have been paid for October 2022 while the Landlord have accumulated arrears that shall be paid in November 2022.

2.8: Other Comments:

Through this partnership with GGF, FHF is bound to position itself into self-sustainable level as we plan to train the trainees’ on climate change/environment as well.
