SENSITIZATION OF ROAD WORKERS ON HIV PREVENTION

During this period Better Family Foundation resumed its work of sensitization of workers of the ongoing construction of Isaibal-Ndio road in Fundong Subdivision. The construction of the road started in 2020 and Better Family Foundation used the opportunity to sensitize the workers working on the road on the prevention of the spread of HIV amongst the workers and Fundong Municipality residents.
Better Family Foundation staff have been deployed to the filed to oversee the health needs of the workers of this road construction. At the end of each week, the staff of BFF have sensitization meetings of the workers on the prevention of HIV/STIs. This sensitization has been going on through out the month of April. The road construction workers and some Municipal Council staff have been attending the sensitization meetings. So far a total of 84 workers have been trained in the month of April.
Better Family Foundation Management have bought some condoms and basic sensitization materials which are used during the sensitization meetings. The funds used for sensitization, have been contributed by BFF from the funds raised through GlobalGiving as well as assistantce from Fundong Municipal Council.

Sensitization of Fundong Council workers on HIV pr

During this period the Management of Better Family Foundation (BFF) in collaboration with the Authority of Fundong Municipal council organized a training seminar for the council workers and the road construction workers. The aim of this seminar was to sensitize the workers on the spread of HIV/AIDS within the municipality considering that the prevalent rate of the pandemic is very high within the municipality.
The training seminar was attended by over two hundred workers. The participants were trained in different shifts of fifty per session due to COVID-19 safety measures. The training sessions took place on Sunday afternoons and Monday morning.
By the end of the training the workers were very grateful to both the Municipal council authority and Better Family Foundation management. In response, the Management of BFF said their appreciation goes to the donors of the funds through GlobalGiving and the municipal council.
On the part of BFF Management, we are very thankful to all our donors for helping to empower the under privileged population.

Sensitization of Road construction workers on HIV

During this period Better Family Foundation (BFF) won a contract from Fundong Municipal Council to sensitize the the Isaibal-Ndio road workers on the prevention of HIV/AIDS amongst workers. This was to mitigate the spread of HIV amongst the hundreds of road workers recruited and its subsequent spread to the neighbouring communities.
In order to realize this objective, the Better Family Foundation staff were deployed to the field to counsel the workers during working hours and orgnise training sessions for workers during weekends. The workers were sub-divided into groups of fifty per training session. At the end of this period one hundred and fifty (150) workers dorminated by youths were sensitized.
The Local Municipal Administrator (Mayor) was very satisfied with the activities of Better Family Foundation and as a consequent, has renewed the contract for another four months. The funds raised from GlobalGiving were added to what was received from the council in order to improve on the quality of the work done on the field.
BFF Management wishes to thank all the donors, GlobalGiving and Fundong Municipal Council for the wonderful assistance aimed at helping to fight the spread of HIV in and around Fundong environes.
