We were once again contacted about a pregnant dog at a high kill shelter. No one was stepping forward for her as she was considered special needs, not only due to her pregnancy, but also issues with her left high and testing heartworm positive. Thankfully we had the space to accept her but unfortunately the vet felt she was too close to delivering to safely travel to us. We were so grateful when a local volunteer (with pregnant dog experience none the less!) offered to keep her until she delivered. When the babies were just shy of two weeks old, they traveled to us! We are so happy to report that all 8 babies survived and are thriving! They will be moving into individual foster homes where they will remain for a couple of weeks before being ready for adoption.
We continue to have several dogs in private boarding, one of which who has been with us for over a year, but we refuse to give up on her! We are committed to our dogs for the rest of their lives and believe that one day we will find the right home for her and the others! We also had a pitbull returned to us recently. Sadly she was only in her home for a year when the people decided they were not committed to her for life. But we will work to find her a deserving and loving home!
None of these efforts could be brought to fruition without your continued support. We are so grateful for any donation as we operate solely on donations.
We wish you all a very safe and happy summer! Thank you!
