Molly and Cody

Molly
At the beginning of February we were contacted about two dogs, living on a chain. Sadly their owner had passed away and they were headed to the shelter where there was little chance they would ever leave. We simply could not say no to this odd looking pair, Molly and Cody. Their comical faces and long bodies with short legs quickly convinced us that we had to save them. It was quickly determined that little Molly was pregnant! Thankfully there were friends and strangers willing to help save this pair and they will be arriving to us on the 25th of February.
Without your continued support and donations, we would not be able to accept dogs like Molly and Cody into our program. From all of us, and especially Molly and Cody, we thank you for your continued support.

Hard to believe the holiday season is in full swing! This time of year so many people are busy preparing for the holidays and visits from family and friends that it is hard to remember that there are so many dogs in need of homes for the holidays! We have taken on several new special needs cases recently, including Dani and Milo. Dani was only a 5 pound puppy when we took her in from the local animal control officer. Poor Dani has multiple upper and lower jaw fractures, the result of abuse. We are grateful to have a local specialist who is working with us on a treatment plan to ensure that Dani has the best quality of life. She currently has to go in for a weekly procedure but eventually will need extensive surgery. Milo is another abuse case that we took in from the shelter. This poor boy was nothing but skin and bones and suffered from multiple open wounds. He was saved hours before he was to be put to sleep. Now he is a thriving and happy boy who loves walks in the snow and carrying his jolly ball! We continue to have many long termers in private boarding and can only hope that some will have homes for the holidays. We continue to be so grateful to all of you for your continued support, none of these dogs would be safe now without all of you. We wish you all a very happy and safe holiday season!

End of Summer 2016...

Lucy
Hard to believe that we are already entering September! We have been very busy since our last report. We are very happy to report that Lizzy and all of her babies found wonderful and loving homes! We took in several more puppies and some seniors that had no other options besides us. We joke that sometimes we should call ourselves Help Orphan Puppies and Misfits!
We took in a chi/dachshund mix from a hoarding case that they felt was pregnant but Lucy is not! She has wiggled her way into her foster mom's heart and will be spayed soon and ready for adoption.
We also took in Pippie, a beautiful golden mix girl who had been living on the streets with 10 other dogs for over a year. She was pregnant and before we could move her to us she delivered 7 beautiful puppies! She will be arriving September 11th with all 7 babies.
Sadly our work is never done and we can only hope for the day that we are not so busy as that would mean that the shelters were empty and we would no longer be bombarded with euthanisia lists and "last call" lists. Until that day we will continue to help save as many lives as we possibly can. But none of this is possible without the continued support of all of you and for that we continue to truly be grateful.
