Sunny dogs give children love

By Anastasiya Starobykhovslaya | Program Manager

Dear friend!

We wholeheartedly thank you for supporting our project at Global Giving!

Thanks to you, we continue the developmental sessions of dog-therapy in orphanages. In December, we held session at the Center for the Promotion of Family Education "Vera.Nadezhda.Lyubov" (Moscow).

This time Sasha (name changed) was waiting for her turn especially hard. nd then she lay down on the rug to the three golden retrievers, she immediately relaxed and smiled. The therapist helped her to relax, stretched the muscles of her arms and legs.

Christina (name changed), despite the difficult diagnosis, a very sociable and smiling girl. She began therapy not so long ago, but immediately passionately fell in love with dogs, rejoices them every time. While we were studying with other children, she was watching with fascination the dogs, reaching out to them from the wheelchair, trying to touch at least a little. And when they put it on the rug, then immediately began to embrace the "sunny dogs". Together with the therapist she fed the retrievers and played with them. For Cristina the dog is a great holiday!

Gleb (name changed) at first did not want to study with  dogs, he was a little excited. But nevertheless together with the therapist at first led one dog on a leash, then led two at once. And in the end, having relaxed, already stroked all three, sitting with them on the rug. After session, Gleb sat down at the table, picked up a toy and, smiling, several times said: "Good!"

In this center we have been conducting regular sessions for the fourth year already. And we are convinced: all children, despite the most serious developmental disorders, improve their condition in one or several spheres - motor, emotional, socialization or intellectual development.

Thank you very much for the support of our children - without you their development would be impossible!
Stay with us, making donations and telling us about your friends. For these children, development means life!
