We help the most disadvantaged orphans with disabilities in Russia to develop mentally and physically and improve their quality of life. It's hard to see that the social system in Russia still does not believe in the ability of these children to learn nor believe they should support the development of these children! By our project, these children are learning to walk, acquiring social skills and showing great results! It is a human right for every child to learn and reach their fullest potental
When a child is born with severe mental and physical complex diseases, the parents give them up to the State. He lives within 4 walls in an institution where outsiders are denied entrance. In Russia, 29,000+ orphans have a disability. Most of them have mental and physical development disorders - cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism . Unfortunately, Social Protection provides only self-sustaining care. There are no teachers, no education, no development. Children lie in cribs until their death.
We have a rich and unique experience of habilitation and development for these children. They show us they can achieve life skill milestones and breaks the stereotypes. We organize diagnostics, consulting physicians, life skills teachers, speech pathologists and teachers hold special sessions. Because of our Project, more and more children are leaving their cots and become free to play, socialize with other children, walk independently and learn self-help skills.
After 8 years of our work, only in one of the groups in the orphanage that we work with, 95% of children previously doomed to die in their cribs! Our experience cannot be hidden. We are currently filming a movie that shows there are no hopeless children, just an uncaring system. We bring it to the attention of all Russians to show them There is Hope. We hope that our Project will bring about social awareness and that this Program will be adopted by the institutions for orphans with disabilities.
