Award Ceremony

Hello Friends,

Hope you are doing well and feeling the start of pleasant weather.

We had a great time of appreciation and celebration on International Women’s day 8th March 13, 2016 by SANTI. SANTI and a local cement manufacturing company OCL together organized this event with participation of more than 300 women.

Boby was awarded as a best member of Women Self-Help Group. She was having a tough time two years ago to support her two daughters, although her husband was working as a tailor. Mr. Pati from SANTI came to know about her situation and suggested to start some business. She asked some monetary help to set up a grocery store in her house. Mr. Pati provided INR 20,000 and she started grocery store. Later Mr. Pati assisted Bobby to obtain a loan of INR 1.2 Lakh from the bank. She was able to run the grocery store and that helps to meet the needs. Her two daughters are currently studying in college and this effort by SANTI helped her to provide education to her daughter. SANTI Stood with her in her difficult time and assisted in making dream comes true. We are proud of Bobby's achievement.

We also awarded following women for outstanding work in past year.

Sabita – Best in Sewing

Lata – Best work in Liploi Mahila Samiti ( a local Women committee)

Anis – Best work under the category of Minority Women Self Help Group

Anita V – Best Volunteer of SANTI Self Help Group

Thanks for your support as we are able to start training following six (6) girls in our new batch. Parbati, Anita T, Bobita, Meena, Suravi and Roshni are in the initial phase of training and will be able to generate some money for their work soon.

Boby’s Grocery store is an inspiration to our community and is an example to many others.

Please support us to buy equipment for new trainees.

Thanks
