Building Skills, Confidence and Brighter Futures for Girls and Young Women

By Ashok Dandpat | Team Lead

SANTI continued its commitment to ensuring that girls and young women have opportunities to pursue education while developing practical skills that can lead to long-term economic independence. During this quarter, the organization focused on vocational education, leadership development, and youth engagement.

The third batch of Dress Making and Tailoring Training continued successfully throughout the reporting period. Participants received regular practical instruction in garment cutting, stitching techniques, finishing methods, and quality control. The training not only strengthens vocational skills but also builds confidence and prepares women and adolescent girls for future self-employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.

An important highlight of this quarter was the successful internship of Miss Arpana Herenj, a B.Com 4th Semester student from Government College, Rourkela, who joined SANTI from 4 May to 3 June 2026 as part of her academic training.

During her one-month internship, Arpana actively participated in various organizational activities including basic accounting, educational support for children, leadership development, community coordination, and administrative responsibilities. She worked closely with the SANTI team to understand grassroots social development and nonprofit management. Throughout her internship, she demonstrated dedication, discipline, and excellent professional conduct, successfully completing the training with appreciation from the organization.

By engaging young students in real community work alongside vocational training for women, SANTI continues to promote education, leadership, and self-reliance while creating pathways that help girls remain connected to learning instead of entering child labor or early economic hardship.
