Hello Friends,
Wish you all a great new year ahead from Santi team and children. We have achieved many new things in past quarter. Here are few important updates.
- Santi Team organized a child labor elimination campaign. We included 192 child labor elimination students as part of our rally. This was also supported and led by 26 adults members. The mission of the rally was to abolish child labor and also to prohibit them to work in hazardous location.
- We are proud of Minakshi and Sanjukta who are trained from our Santi training institute and earning Rs 4000 each per month. They make soft toys and clothing for local people. They have been successful to learn and use their skills to earn their living.
- We are inspired by such stories and motivated to help many more to come.
Please continue to support Santi as our success depends on your support.
Thanks

The various programs which are going as part of the vocational training are:
1) Mushroom Cultivation Program: Improved farming techniques are being taught in the workshops so that the farmers can increase the productivity of their cultivation and rake in more profits.
2) Basic Computer Training Program: This program is run with help of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), an autonomous organization under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, within the Government of India.
3) Tailoring Training Program: A new vocational Instructor was appointed to carry out the tailoring training program. The main objective of this tailoring training program is to enhance the quality of life of women and teenage girls through enhancement of their skills and knowledge. Due to poverty, these teenage girls drop out of high school to get married and work as temporary farm workers or take up other menial jobs. They are now learning newer vocational skills such as tailoring (sewing) which can help them earn more income and become economically self-sufficient and independent. This will alleviate poverty, help them support their family needs without being dependent of husband and parents.
4) National Child Labor Project (NCLP): SANTI is now managing 6 NCLP schools since April 2017. An orientation training program of National Child Labor Project “NCLP” was organized in SANTI empowerment center. About 30 teachers were trained to impart training under the NCLP scheme.
We would love to expand our programs and introduce new ones and it is our request that more and more readers would contribute in any way possible. Thanks for your support.
