Project Report | Mar 15, 2026
Skill Development & Economic Empowerment for Women

By Ashok Dandpat | Project Lead

At SANTI, empowering women and girls through skill development remains a core part of our mission. Through vocational training and community initiatives, we aim to provide opportunities that lead to self-reliance, dignity, and financial independence.

Community Waste Management Initiative

Rajgangpur Municipality has selected two Women Self Help Groups (WSHG):

  • SANTI SHG No-04 (Ward No-8)
    SANTI SHG-148 (Ward No-11)

These groups have been assigned responsibility to carry out daily garbage collection and city cleanliness work under the Mission Shakti Department of the Government of Odisha through the Swachha Sawari initiative.

The program provides 30,000 per month, including the driver’s salary. This initiative has become an important income-generation opportunity for women, helping them support their families and strengthen their role in society.

Completion of Tailoring Training – 3rd Batch

The 3rd Batch of Tailoring Training successfully concluded on 2 March 2026. A total of 30 participants completed the training program and received tailoring kits, enabling them to begin their own stitching work and small businesses.

This program not only provides practical skills but also builds confidence and encourages women to become economically independent.

New Training Batch Starting Soon

We are pleased to announce that the 4th Batch of Tailoring Training will begin in April 2026, continuing our mission to empower more women through skill-based livelihood opportunities.

PMEGP Employment Training Program

A 12-day Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) training program was conducted at the SANTI campus building with the support of VARSA WSHG and MSHG.

Approximately 30 participants attended the program to learn about self-employment opportunities and income generation schemes.

During the training, several officials provided guidance and motivation, including:

• District Industries Centre Manager
• Bank Manager
• LIC Officer
• IPO Officer
• DRDA Project Director

They shared valuable information about government employment schemes, entrepreneurship opportunities, and financial support programs that can help participants start their own businesses.

Through vocational training, community initiatives, and government programs, SANTI continues to support women and girls in building sustainable livelihoods and brighter futures.
