Empowering Future: CLVT and Health Highlights

It's with great enthusiasm that we bring you the latest updates from our Child Labour Elimination Vocational Training (CLVT) initiative. Your support continues to illuminate paths of hope and transformation for many.

Training and Empowerment:

We celebrated the completion of our 2nd batch of tailoring training on January 22, 2024. This three-month program has not only equipped our participants with valuable skills but also opened doors to new opportunities. As we bid farewell to this batch, we're excited to announce the commencement of the 3rd batch training starting in April. Your support is sowing seeds of independence and creativity.

World Oral Health Day Celebration:

In a special initiative on World Oral Health Day, we organized a comprehensive screening camp at the SANTI orphanage in Ranibandh. With the esteemed presence of the superintendent of CHC Rajgangpur and the Director of SANTI NGO, we provided screenings and treatments for 24 children. Each child was given necessary materials and oral hygiene packs, empowering them with the tools for healthier futures. The day was marked by a pledge-taking ceremony and an invaluable oral hygiene talk by Dr. Soumendra Lenka from CHC Rajgangpur, enriching our children's knowledge and awareness about oral health.

These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to not just eliminating child labor but also to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills and health awareness to lead fulfilling lives. Your continued support makes these life-changing programs possible.

Empowering Women, Eliminating Child Labor

Dear Supporters and Well-Wishers,

Hope you are having fun.

At SANTI, our commitment to eradicating child labor goes hand in hand with empowering the women who are at the heart of these communities. We firmly believe in the adage, "When you empower a woman, you empower a community." Here are some of our key accomplishments this quarter:

1. Empowering SHG Leaders:

With the support of Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd (DCBL) in Rajgangpur, we organized our 10th batch of Micro Enterprises Development Training for Self Help Group (SHG) leaders. A total of 30 beneficiaries from each WSHG, including the president and secretary, were part of this transformative initiative. Each of the 150 SHGs that participated received a steel box, a darry, a register, and a banner courtesy of DCBL.

2. Promoting Health and Hygiene:

Health is wealth, and with this in mind, we organized an awareness program titled SWATCHHATA PAKWADA 2023. Hosted at Rajgangpur's Community Health Centre and facilitated by Dr. U.C. Toppo, this event saw participation from ASHA workers, ANM, AWW, NGO volunteers, and various health activists. Together, we shared and discussed best practices to promote health and hygiene in our communities.

3. Skilling and Employment:

We are proud to announce that we successfully completed the stitching of uniforms for 300 staff members of DCBL, providing each individual with 2 pairs. This not only provided employment opportunities for our women but also showcased the skills they've honed. Meanwhile, our second batch of tailoring training is ongoing, and the enthusiasm we see is truly heartwarming.

Your continued support makes these programs possible, and each step we take is a stride towards a brighter future for these women and, by extension, their communities. Together, we can make child labor a thing of the past, ensuring brighter and more secure futures for all.
