Help Indian Girl Not Work But Go To School

Dear Friends,

I hope you are enjoying the holidays in the United States and the festival season in India. Here are some of the interesting events that have taken place in our center.

• The Government's PDS programme was managed by SANTI Women's Self-Help Group at Mandeia, ward No. 10, Rajgangpur. District Development Council chairman and BJD president Shree Binaya Toppo inaugurated the programme as chief guest and Madhuri Lugun, Chairperson of Rajgangpur Municipality, as the guest of honour. WSHG members, ward Councillors and villagers participated in this program.

• From the 1st Aug’ 22 six months tailoring training course on dress making was started with 20 women WSHG members with the support of Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd. Mrs. Sanjukta Sarangi- Master trainer imparting stitching and cutting to the beneficiaries and she is our one of WSHG member earning @7000 per month.

A) New self-help groups were formed: -

1. NULM WEB WSHG,

2. NULM SEBADAL SHG(M/F),

3. SANTI MSHG NO-97.

The monthly fee for each member is just 2 dollars.

B) An awareness activity was held to educate people about the prohibition of child labor through NCLP (National Child Labor Project) staff at Rourkela. Shri Nikhil, District Magistrate inaugurated the rally and the rally started in front of Rourkela Railway Station and went on till Hanuman Vatika. ADM Rourkela, Chairman CWC, DCPO Sundargarh, DLO Rourkela, P.D Sundargarh & NCLP staff were participate in the function.

C) Record keeping training for the following self-help groups was done:

1.ABHA WSHG,

2. Ramesware WSHG

3. SHIKSHA WSHG

D) In July 2022, training related to mass education program organized by government was conducted.
