Stories are not merely a source of entertainment—they hold the power to move and inspire. Guided by this belief, Kisara PKBI Bali has created a space called Ruang Dialektika. This forum is designed as a platform for the public to share stories, whether in the form of ideas, lived experiences, social challenges, fresh perspectives, or alternative viewpoints on the issues that shape our society.
Ruang Dialektika emerges as an initiative to address topics that are often considered taboo. Issues such as sexual violence, sexual and reproductive health, gender diversity, and disability are frequently marginalized in public discussions. Through this space, Kisara PKBI Bali seeks to provide both a safe environment and a spark for social discourse—ensuring these issues are critically examined and paving the way for fairer, more inclusive solutions.
This is not a new agenda. In the past, Kisara PKBI Bali regularly organized Ruang Dialektika in an online format. What makes this edition special is that, for the first time, the program was brought to life on stage. The event coincided with the fourth Kisara PKBI Bali Exhibition, themed Human Exhibition 4.0: Diver(city), which highlights stories of urban life and diversity—with Ruang Dialektika as one of its main features.
This edition presented five storytellers from diverse backgrounds. The selection process was conducted openly through an open speaker mechanism, inviting the public to submit ideas, reflections, or social issues they wished to share. From twelve applicants, five storytellers were chosen, each bringing forward intersecting yet distinct themes.
The five themes included:
Through Ruang Dialektika, Kisara PKBI Bali introduces a new approach to sharing and learning together. Everyone is given the opportunity to voice the challenges they face, while also contributing ideas, perspectives, and solutions. Ultimately, every individual has both the right and the responsibility to help shape a world that is more equal, just, and inclusive.
