In the world of advocacy, passion is the engine, but data is the compass. For KISARA PKBI Bali, staying ahead of the curve in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) means ensuring that every campaign, every workshop, and every social media post is rooted in the lived realities of young people.
To bridge the gap between "knowing there’s a problem" and "proving it with evidence," KISARA recently hosted a transformative capacity-building session titled “Mini Research for Max Impact.”
While KISARA volunteers are experts at connecting with their peers, the challenge often lies in documentation and scientific validation. Advocacy gains its power when it is backed by valid, accurate information. As an integral part of PKBI Bali, KISARA recognizes that to influence policy and change mindsets, volunteers must move beyond anecdotes. They need the tools to conduct systematic, ethical, and simple research that yields high-impact results.
The workshop, held on March 5, 2026, adopted a hybrid approach—blending spirited face-to-face interaction at the PKBI Bali with a wide-reaching Zoom session. Led by expert facilitator Kak Fahra, the curriculum was designed to be rigorous yet accessible.
Key focus areas included:
By the end of the session, volunteers didn't just walk away with theoretical knowledge; they engaged in a collaborative mini-project, applying every step of the research cycle in real-time.
This initiative is more than just a one-day training; it is an investment in the sustainability of youth-led movements. When a volunteer knows how to gather data, they become more than an educator—they become a credible advocate who can speak truth to power with the weight of evidence behind them.
