Creating a Safe and Child-Friendly School

By Ayu Ratna | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for your continued support of PKBI Daerah Bali. It’s been three months since we launched our project Grow Together, Be the Changemaker on GlobalGiving, and we’re excited to share the progress we’ve made.

Our youth volunteers have been actively engaged in peer education and youth empowerment initiatives. As part of our commitment to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights for especially young people, we’ve also been working to create safe and supportive environments.

One of our recent activities focused on violence prevention, with a special emphasis on anti-bullying efforts. Through interactive and educational outreach, we aim to foster communities where young people feel safe, respected, and empowered to speak up.

We’re happy to share stories from the field with you, and we hope they inspire continued support and collaboration.

Creating a Safe and Child-Friendly School

Saturday, August 2, 2025, was a joyful day spent with the students of SDN 1 Desa Punggul. Kisara PKBI Daerah Bali, in collaboration with the community service program (KKN) Universitas Hindu Negeri I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar, held an educational session themed "Bullying Among Children."

A total of 67 students actively participated in the event. The learning atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, as the material was delivered using an interactive edutainment approach—combining the fun of games with educational messages, creating a safe space for the children to share their stories.

Some students bravely shared their experiences of being bullied, while others came to realize that bullying isn't limited to physical violence, it can also occur through words.

Through this activity, Kisara PKBI Daerah Bali hopes to continue spreading the message about the importance of creating a safe and respectful school environment. We believe that education like this needs to be carried out sustainably, especially in areas that still have limited access to information and education about health, including sexual and reproductive health.

Because every child deserves to grow and learn without fear, in an environment that is safe, comfortable, and free from violence.

Thank you for being part of this journey toward change.

Warm regards,

PKBI Daerah Bali
