Success Rate:
The program has been successful in helping 25 out of 30 widows (83.3%). Five women faced challenges due to terminal illness affecting them or their loved ones, or their children's university education. The program provided necessary support and resources to these women, which helped them to overcome their challenges. The last harvest was incredible! The widows have enough for the year as they wait for the next harvest. They have started preparing their farms and will start planting in a month or so. We are happy to report that the first group has successfully saved their money for the last three years when they were receiving free farm inputs and this year they are ready to buy their farm inputs from their saving! We are now starting with a new group of 30 widows, who will receive free farm inputs for the next three years as they save for the future and become self-reliant.
Program Growth:
The program plans to add a new cohort of 30 widows every three years. Currently, the second cohort has been selected, and training is underway. The program aims to expand its reach and impact by partnering with other organizations and stakeholders to increase its funding and resources.
For one widow to have food throughout the year it will cost Ks 17,700 per year and Ks 53,100 for 3 years. After that, she will continue to have the same using her savings and will have food for her family.
We are very much grateful to those who have continuously supported this program to empower widows and enable them to care for their children. Kindly consider sharing with friends and family about this wonderful great program, Let us join hands to strengthen and empower widows.
Once again thank you for your prayers, support, and commitment.
