During our recent visit to Otukpo-Nobi on August 4, 2026, the most striking and painful reality was the destruction of people’s homes. A home is far more than walls and a roof—it is a family’s sanctuary, storing food, clothing, documents, savings, tools, and cherished memories built over years of effort.
For families in Benue State affected by violence, losing a home can mean losing almost everything in a moment. Many now face profound uncertainty after violence has displaced them and stripped them of their livelihoods. Our team spoke with community members grappling with the aftermath of conflict—uncertainty about where they will sleep, how they will eat, and what the future holds.
The impact is especially severe for farming families. Displacement not only brings the trauma of losing shelter but also means loss of access to farmland during vital planting and harvest seasons. Households that once provided for themselves are now reliant on humanitarian support for survival.
Through our Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria, project, GoGreen is working to meet the most urgent needs of these families—providing food, water containers, soap, hygiene supplies, blankets, sleeping mats, and dignity materials for women and girls.
The families we met are not asking for luxuries—only for the basic necessities required to survive and rebuild.
We invite you to stand with them. Your donation can provide immediate relief and restore hope and dignity to families whose lives have been overturned by conflict. By acting together, we can ensure that no family faces this crisis alone.
