Dear Donors!
It is with your support that we can achieve this. Yes, 52 children from our special schools are mainstreamed this year. They have been admitted to the nearby schools in different standards, based on their eligibility. The children are coached for two years or more. And when found to have confidence, courage and required level of academic knowledge, they are taken to the nearby school, write a test there and when found eligible, they are admitted to the school. And 52 is a good number, isn't it?
On 11th June, our special school teachers observed the Anti- Child Labour Day by conducting a signature campaign against child labour in the Government Schools, Musiri. It created awareness among the children about their rights to study.
Being the month of June, the special school staff are very busy, admitting new students to our special schools after convincing the parents.
During the last quarter we received $417.62 donations from noble hearted people like you. Out of this $100 is apportioned for paying the partial rent of two schools for six months. The balance amount $317.62 is used to support two children to continue their higher studies.
All this is possible only because of you dear donors. We gratefully remember you for making this happen. Kindly spread words about this project close to your heart to your friends and relatives. They value your words more.
Thank you once again.
With regards
Sangeetha, aged 17 is studying in 11th standard. She is now financially supported by New Life with the donations we got from you, dear donors.
When she was 12 years her mother died and her father went out of town to earn. Hence she is staying with her grandparents. She narrates her story: "My mother died, when I was studying 7th standard. I had to stop my studies and start working (forced by my father). So I was working as a daily wage labour.
But I was longing to study and felt dejected when I saw my friends going to school. It was then the special school teacher came to our home to ask my dad to send me to school. My dad shouted at him at first. The teacher patiently convinced my dad. And yes, I was back to the (special) school.
The motivation and coaching given by my teacher helped me to go back to the regular school. I passed the 10th standard with 64% marks and is in 11th standard now. Thanks to the teacher.
Now I am much more happy that I got this education support. I pray to God that He bless the good heart which gave me this money. My sincere thanks to New Life for choosing me for the support among the many children who are like me."
On 9th March, the International Women's Day was celebrated in our organisation and the children chosen for education support got their support on that day. 12 children were given education support worth Rs.1,20,000/- They are from Trichy, Arangoor and Vaiyavoor. The teachers who made this happen were also honoured on this day. It is a great work they do and it is so kind of them that they keep track of their old students.
Out of this 12 children, 2 are in the college, 4 are in the higher secondary school(11th and 12th standard) and 6 are in the high school (9th and 10th standard).
We are much obliged to you dear donors for making this happen. Kindly continue supporting the project and help us in eliminating child labour.
With warm regards

With your generous support, 7 children who are studying 9th standard and above will be selected for getting education support. Our special thanks to Mr. Sridhar Sundaram who gave a generous donation of $1400 and made it possible. Our thanks giving will not be complete, unless we thank Mr./Ms. Laurie Duker who is continuously supporting us. The funds received are allocated towards the part payment of rent for a year ($200) and the balance to support 7 children to continue their studies. It is decided to select 7 from amongst those who compete, based on the following criteria:

Dear friends,
Suma (name changed) is living in Kaja Pettai and was stitching sacks. She is 13 years old and due to her poor family background, she had to drop out from school while she was in 7th standard. She started supporting her family financially by stitching sacks. Her soft hands had wounds caused by the needle used in stitching sacks.
The teacher of our special school, saw her sitting in front of her home and was perplexed by her tear filled eyes. She went near Suma and inquired what happened. Suma was first hesitant to narrate her story, then she told about her fate and her interest to continue her studies. So the teacher, together with the counselor met Suma's mother and convinced her to send Suma to the special school. Now Suma is in the special school, and she might be admitted to the regular school next academic year.
The salary for the teachers, the lunch expenses and part of the rent of New Life's special schools are now being supported by a funder. And your beloved organisation is now approved by the Government to give free trainings in its premises for people above 14 years. Hence what we require now is support for the balance of the rent ($10 per center per month) and the education expenses (fees, notebooks, learning materials, etc.) to an extent of $180 on an average per child per annum for 25. Hence we need your continued support to educate these children. We will be making the necessary changes in the project soon.
We thank you for the support you have been providing so far. Kindly support the project by spreading words too to your friends and relatives. You know them better and your words carry weight.
With gratitude
