Ensure Education for 100 Child Laborers

Sundaram, an ex-child labourer was given education support in the month of June 2017. He is in 10th standard. During the follow up visit, his mother who is a servant maid said to the field officer of New Life: "Thank you New Life for supporting my son to continue his studies. There are five members in our family. Feeding all of us is itself a great task for me and how can I think of spending on education. I am the single earning member of the family. After the death of my husband I was forced to send Sundaram to work. I was panicked to see my small son who was 10 years old could not go to school like other children. It was then Sundaram was admitted in the special school conducted by New Life. He was given meals and he can study as well. After two years, he was admitted to regular school. Then I found it difficult to meet out the education expenses. 

Thank God! Sundaram got selected for education support from New Life this year and my burden is reduced. Actually I was thinking of stopping his studies (with pain and after a pause), if not this year, in the next year. Thank you New Life for choosing my son for support. He can continue his studies now. Thank you generous hearts for donating to support children like my son to study."

During this quarter we received $724.5 This amount will be used to support 4 children. 

In the month of August, Independence Day was celebrated in Alamarathupatti special school.  The program was organised by the staff of New Life. Flag was hoisted. Lions Club of Musiri donated play things, books, learning materials, board, etc. to the speical school. Special lunch was provided to the children.
