This year with our educational loans, 140 children from our Nandri families completed their final school examinations. With the help of Nandris' "Support for Higher Education loans", most of the young adults have decided to move on to 3rd level education. Since this programme was introduced two years ago, most of the children who completed 2nd level education progressed on to college. This is an incredible achievement. Previously the upfront cost of college fees precluded these children from progressing their education.
Nandri loans enable the children of illiterate and impoverished families to continue their education and break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy passed on from generation to generation. The parents of these children have had little or no education. They are mostly unable to read or write. They take enormous pride in their sons and daughters success in school and college and the fact that they will go on to have professional, well paid careers. In turn, their children will support their parents, extended family and also fund other siblings education. The benefit to the entire community is enormous.
Five years ago less than 10 of our children continued on to 3rd level education but now with the help and support of Nandri Loans, this year we can look forward to 140 children fulfilling their dreams by becoming doctors, nurses, teachers, accountants or achieving in what ever career they choose. We cannot do this without your help and we thank you for supporting and donating to Nandri, helping us to change lives.
