There have been many controversies in Ireland and I'm sure in other countries regarding overpaid CEOs and staff in NGOs. Nandri Ireland is a small charity with an unpaid CEO and one administrator who works a few hours a day. Last year less than 4% of our income was spent on salaries and 10% of our Revenue on expenses including audit fees and necessary postage and legal fees.
We are continuing to receive money every month for this project. For each child we add to the programme. We open a bank account. We transfer money for every month into the child's bank account and also try to ensure that the bank account is only used for educational purposes.
When the child has reached 17 or 18 We will provide a loan to the child to go to college and this will loan will be repaid by the family while the child is in college and the child will complete when here she is earning
The child sponsorship money for each family per month is either Rs.450 ($3.00) or Rs.600 ($4). Considering a mother will earn Rs.150 for working in a scorching hot rice field by day you can see how much this money means to the family. It is probably the equivalent of giving $450 to an American familyNo probably zero.
We are grateful to the sponsors who make a sacrifice, but which makes a huge difference to the family in India. Where we have a name and an email address. We set up the sponsor in our system and the sponsor can access the latest photographs we have for the child and the child's family. . We don't allow our sponsors to contact the children or their families for child protection purposes.
The children do indeed know that their lives are being changed by somebody far away. Probably have no idea where Ireland or the USA. You should be content knowing that your money is indeed changing the lives of the sponsored children
