Quarterly Progress Report for Feb 2020 to Apr 2020
Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from February 2020 to April 2020 for these children :
Nationwide lock down was imposed from 25th March 2020 in India and no activity was allowed, transportation was halted, schools closed down and people were asked to remain at home. In such situation poor people who are dependent on their daily income for each days food faced starvation and our children being street children are from this strata of the society. Therefore foundation started distributing food and ration kits, masks etc. taking due care.
February 2020
1st February – Health Check Up camp was arranged for 250 children from Phulenagar area. Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre sent their staff for this check up. Height, weight, HB, ENT, skin and general health check up was done. Children having health problems were given medicines and those needing further treatment were taken to hospital.
3rd February – Adolescent girls and women from Phulenagar area were begging on the road and rag picking. However, the alms they were getting was not sufficient for their households. Social worker from this area on behalf of Janaseva Foundation, Pune, gave them training of making cloth bags, baby clothes, alternating clothes etc.
9th February – Get together of children Devkar vasti from Ramwadi area was arranged wherein children participated in cooking activity and later on in various games and performed dance and ate the food they had cooked.
23rd February – Health Check Up camp was arranged for 250 children from Pandhremala and Hinganemala areas of Hadapsar. Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre sent their staff for this check up. Height, weight, HB, ENT, skin and general health check up was done. Children having health problems were given medicines and those needing further treatment were taken to hospital.
March 2020
1st March – 20 children and 12 parents living on the road were given clothes and sweets donated by a donor.
3rd March – Principal of a school distributed chocolates to the students to encourage them.
4th March – In the health camps arranged on 1st Feb and 23rd Feb 2020 a girl and a boy were found to malnourished were taken to the Dr. D.Y. Hospital and admitted there..
7th March –. Health Check Up camp was arranged for 200 children from Sangvi area. Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre sent their staff for this check up. Height, weight, HB, ENT, skin and general health check up was done. Children having health problems were given medicines and those needing further treatment were taken to hospital.
11th March – 20 children were taken for Aadhar enrollment.
28th March – All the social workers celebrated the festival of Holi with the children.
28th March – Due to lock down because of corona virus pandemic people remained at home and had do food to eat. Janaseva Foundation started distribution of meal for 300 parents and children donated by Iscon temple. Similarly 40 very poor families were provided ration for 15 days.
April 2020
1st April – 120 families from Phulenagar locality were given 10 kg rice and 4 kg split pigeon peas. Police Sub Inspector Mr. Patil and local corporator assisted us.
3rd April – 40 families were given Dettol soaps and information on corona virus and preventive measures was given to them.
4th April – 100 families from Ramwadi area were given ration.
6th April – Children and parents from Sangvi area and other 5 areas were given masks.
