Care and School Education of Street Children

Quarterly Progress Report for August 2020 to October 2020

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from August 2020 to October 2020 for these children :

Nationwide lock down was imposed from 25^th March 2020 in India and no activity was allowed, transportation was halted, schools closed down and people were asked to remain at home. In such situation poor people who are dependent on their daily income for each days food faced starvation and our children being street children are from this strata of the society. Therefore foundation started distributing food and ration kits, masks etc. taking due care.

The nationwise lockdown was lifted gradually and life is slowly returning to normalcy, however many have been left jobless.

August 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

1^st August -     The result of students studying 10^th class was declared by the State Boards. Student Mr. SaiKumar passed out with 81.80% marks. 30 students from all locations passed out with good marks. Foundation appreciated their success.

5^th August -     6 families living on road from Vishrantwadi were provided ration kits. Similarly 20 families from Potraj community from Ramwadi are were provided ration kits.

18^th August -   Approximately 1500 children were provided syrup for increasing haemoglobin level.

28^th August – 4 students studying in 10^th class were provided tab phones to study online.

September 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

5^th September -           Being a teacher’s day students were given information regarding this day and they celebrated this day.

9^th September -           50 children and their parents were given cloth face masks. 300 children and 150 parents from Vallabhnagar area were given syrup for haemoglobin level increase.

13^th September -         53 families from Hadapsar were provided ration kits.

15^th September -         200 children and few parents from Phulenagar area were provided readymade food. Children from Potraj community were given chocolates and masks and 30 families were provided ration kits.

19^th September -         30 children from Cyprus Lokmanya High School were provided ration kits from the school by requesting the school.

October 2020

Continuation of distribution of readymade food daily / ration kits, masks, sanitizers etc.

Children are provided education by our teachers and their health is also taken care of.

11^th October -  As the schools are not yet opened in the state, we requested the Principal of the Col. Binni Primary School, Cyprus for teaching the students at their locations and the Principal himself teaches 30 children for 2 hours daily at their locations.
