Care and Educate slum kids in Guntur, India

Thank you very much for your kind continuous support to the children with us through this project for the last 10 years.

The Academic year 2021-22 is successfully completed. All the children got the best progress in their annual exams and finally were promoted to the next classes.

 
Total 150 children benefited through this project in two slum locations. The summer holidays are given to all schools as per government instructions from the first week of May to first week July 2022. But at swarna bharathi nagar slum school we are operating a special learning centre during summer holidays with expert teachers with Maths, science, English, health care and life skills subjects. Children are very happy to attend half day during summer holidays.

 
Unfortunately the government India has stopped National Child labor project for the academic year 2022-23 throughout India  So the staff members could not get the salaries and students could not get any government benefits. Therefore we have mainstreamed all the children to other local schools at Swarna Bharathi Nagar centre and continued to keep with us children in our school at Dasaripalem centre. Total 9 staff members from this project have not received salaries for the last 16 months. But our organization is providing partial salaries support to the staff for their family needs with our limited resources.

       
Now we have been continuing our Care and education program for the slum children in the two locations for this new academic year 2022-23 from the first week of July. At Dasaripalem School we are continuing to operate as a regular school and more than 120 children are attending currently. 5 teachers and 3 helpers and cooks are working here.  And Swarna Bharathi nagar slum centre changed to a special learning centre, operating at evening times. After school program. More than 60 children attend this centre during the evening and two teachers are working here to educate children

Now we humbly request you to kindly help 180 children to get educational material, learning material, school bags and school uniforms for this new academic year. And also kindly consider giving pending salaries to the staff members who could not get salaries for the last 16 months from the government. And also kindly support a mid day meal program for Dasari Palem School centre.

Thank you very much for your kind generous support to the children with us through this project for the last 10 years.

The Academic year 2021-22 is successfully going on well after Covid lockdown in India from 1st August 2021. We are at last quarter of this academic year.  

At least 150 children benefited through this project in two slum locations. We are continuously providing mid day meals, education material and uniforms to the children.

All our staff members including academic and vocational trainers are skillfully teaching in both academic, vocational skills and life skills.

Once again I wish to inform you that this project is benefitting the children from remote slums where no educational facilities are available.

Fortunately During this period children are regularly attending classes without absents. Most of the children negatively impacted Covid lockdown days without school and sufficient meals in their family.

At present the summer temperature is hiking, therefore half day schools started from 4th April 2022. Children access lunch (Mid day meal) and go to their homes.

During this quarter we celebrated Sankranthi festival and Holi festival in our schools.  And also regularly government officers are visiting our schools and giving their continued feedback. 

We are very happy to share that one of our slum school Teacher, Mrs Bullimma gets best teacher award from the Guntur District Collector, Government of Andhra Pradesh on Indian Republic day Celebrations on 26th January 2022. We are very proud of her services to the children.     

We are also operating after school evening learning centers in two locations. One after school learning centre operating expenses will be just US250 per month to cover 30 children.
