Dear Friends,
I am very happy to share two stories of our children in our school in Swarnabharathinagar slum, Guntur, India
Story of Suvarna
My name is Suvanna, aged 12 years old, studying 5th class in BASS, NCLP School at Swarnabaharthinagar slum in Guntur. My family consists of three children include my brother Anji 8 years old and Mallika 10 year old are also studying in this school since 2016. We are living in a small rented hut is this slum with my mother, unfortunately my father was died due to ill health and my mother is only caring us by working as daily wage works in chilly yard. Before coming to this school my sister and I also attend works along with my mother to get small income to facilitate food to all my family members. Since many days we don’t get three times meal in my family and sometimes we do not even for full day when mother is sick. But teachers from BASS school motivate my mother and bringing all our three children to this school and care and educating us. At present I am 5th class, my brother 1st class and sister is studying 2nd class. And also we are happy to eat lunch in the school. We are very much happy now and studying well. Thank you so much for all the supporters for supporting us through this project. I trust that my life ambition of become Nurse can be possible if I could attend school every day. Thank you
Story of Yamuna
My name is Yamuna 11 years old studying 4th class in BASS school at Swarnabharathinagar slum. We are migrated to this slum in search of employment. My father is selling house hold itesm in Guntur cvity and my mother is working as daily wage workers in chilly yard. I have two more brothers, Lakshmaiah 7 years old and Ramaiah 9 years old also attending to this school. We are extremely happy to get care and education in this school since there is no other free schools exits near my house. We are also get mid-day meal in school and enjoying. Before sometimes my mother insisting me and my elder brother to go for works along with her to get income but our teachers motivate and educate my parents that not to send works any more. At present we are very happy and completely concentrate in education towards to reach my goal as Teacher in my future. Thanks to everyone
Like Suvarana and Yamuna we have more than 40 children like the same misererbele stories could not access even primary education due to either poverty of their family situation and also not had the availability of educational facilities in the slums.
