Many Greetings and good wishes to you from BASS, India
Thank you very much for your kind continuous generous support to the children with us through this project for the last 9 years.
After 2nd Covid lockdown in India, schools were reopened from 1st August 2021. Our project primary schools also reopened and operating with strict Covid prevention measures.
Unfortunately most of the children felt very sad situations during Covid lockdown days and become weak with sick due to starvation. Most of the slum families lost their income and unable to feed sufficiently to the children. Still no works and besides unfortunate rains and floods continuously affecting the daily wage works. Moreover the Covid is not stopped completely in India and third wave is entered recently and government, other responsible departments and voluntary organizations like us warn and educating people to protect from Covid through Covid appropriate Behavior measures.
All our children are coming again to school from first week of August after Covid 2 wave lockdown , and they are very happy to attend school and get primary education and having mid day meal.
At present 150 children coming to our schools in two slums locations. Still new admissions are progressing. 22 children successfully completed primary education and promoted to high school education
We distributed education kits include uniforms, note books and schools bags. We are also provided hygiene kits along with essential food dry ration kits to children families. This project is operating by 5 Teachers and 2 care takers. Teachers are doing great job to the children and not only teaching education but also training children and their families to protect from Covid infections. After Covid second wave relaxation, with instructions from government, all our teachers and supporting staff team are already working before children come to the schools.
Unfortunately, our project staff is not get salaries from government for the last 8 months and very difficult feed their families. And also we are not able to get support locally and we are totally depending upon your kind help only to provide daily mid day meal programs for the children and other project operating expenses of two schools.
Due to Covid break for the last one and half year this project is not get sufficient donations, therefore we humbly requesting you to kindly give a new donation to this project now to continue to care and educate 150 children in this project.
Currently we have a good opportunity, GlobalGiving offering matching grant benefits from new monthly donations (up to $200 per unique donor) started between December 13 and December 17, 2021 will have their first donation matched at 200% after four (4) total payments.
Please also kindly share the project with all your friends. Once again thank you so much for your kind support and partnership to care and educate children in Guntur.
Sincerely with gratitude
