Return Alice to school for another school term
 
Alice is a young, spunky, girl living in the central part of Uganda. Her love for school is her motivation to continue her education despite being born deaf. During her mother's pregnancy with her, her mother contracted rubella, a contagious viral disease which causes fetal malformation. Being deaf, Alice attends a boarding school for the deaf but the cost is much too high for her family to afford. Alice relies on GlobalGiving Donations to pay for her school fees and school materials.
Solar to power school computers in Uganda
 
In the Mpigi District in Uganda, electricity is very inconsistent, making it hard for children to learn at our computer training center. The center teaches computer skills to over 50 youth who otherwise would have no access to the training. With your help, we can install solar panels that will allow us to have consistent power and consistently teach our students.
First aid kits to 35 class rooms in Uganda
 
At Mountains of Hope we envision that one day, all children will have the opportunity to attain good health and an excellent education. To achieve this, we aim to purchase 40 first aid kits for 5 primary schools in one district. Each class will receive one kit as well as a teachers staff room to enable them to give first aid treatment to pupils before referring them to health centers. Currently, pupils are sent back home to seek treatment for simple health issues such as a cold or slight injury.
Kauthar needs to continue education in Uganda
 
This funding will pay Kauthar's tuition for two semesters in University . She is doing a three years nursing course, her father succumbed to cancer and passed on, her mother can not raise money for her education. When she visited us this is what she had to say"My family is not able to pay my expenses of studies; I also applied for Scholarship but all in vain. If I won't get any help further I will not be able to study and achieve my dream, I want to become a nurse"
A copier for a youth computer center in Uganda
 
This project will purchase a New canon photo copier which will also do printing and scanning at the same time to equip a youth computer training center. Globalgiving donors helped set up a computer center in Mpigi District, the project is training over 100 youth on computer skills.The center offers Internet access, training and resources to close the Digital Divide in the community where as few as one in 100 youth can use a computer.
Help a widow establish a home business in Uganda
 
This funding will enable Sarah establish a small home based business to enable her take care of her kids, Sarahs husband passed on recently to HIV/AIDS, fortunately Sarah is HIV Negative,she was left helpless as her husband was the bread winner.When she is able to sustain her family, she will not be a burden to the neighbors and relatives and her children will continue going to school.
Music &Drama to end teenage pregnancies in Uganda
 
Uganda has one of the highest rates of child marriage in the world, with 46% of girls married before age 18 (UNFPA 2012). This project will empower children in Primary schools in Uganda through Music, Dance and Drama, empower them in their choices and create a safe community that promotes parents and guardians to support young girls through healthy discussion of reproductive health topics.
Enable 40 people form a savings&loan association
 
This project will support the communities in self-help micro financing initiative using Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) concept to mobilize financial resources to support livelihoods diversification.The scheme will also become a platform through which innovative technologies are disseminated to the masses.
You can help save a kid from Malaria in Uganda
 
This project will provide Rural Households with Malaria Prevention Education, supply of Insecticide-Treated Mosquito net (ITN) to 100 households and supply of basic malaria life-saving medicines to children suffering from malaria in rural Mpigi District
Nutritional care for HIV infected children
 
This micro project will provide nutritious food to HIV/AIDS children families to help Keep their immune system stronger so as to fight disease. HIV-infected children who are significantly underweight are much more likely to die than HIV-infected children who are not malnourished. Guidelines suggest that asymptomatic HIV-infected child may require up to 10% more energy than uninfected child.We will provide adequate micro nutrient intake through a balanced diet
