Lilis Community Bakery is a community-led project training 60 youth and women in Uganda with affordable baking skills. By upgrading ovens and mixers, we'll create jobs, supply bread to schools, and run weekly classes. Your donation turns one bakery into a skills hub that feeds families and funds futures in Kyengera
In Kyengera community, youth unemployment and school dropouts are rising. Many young people want baking skills but can't afford courses or equipment. Local bakers use old charcoal stoves with no training space. This limits income and nutrition. Without affordable training and modern tools, Kyengera's youth stay jobless while families buy expensive bread from town. Our community has the people and demand. We lack one equipped bakery to unlock it
We're upgrading one community bakery for all. We'll buy a commercial oven, mixer, and tools so the bakery can train more people and bake more bread. Sixty youth and women will learn baking, hygiene, and business skills in low-cost weekly classes. As production grows, we'll hire 8 youth as apprentice bakers and supply affordable bread to 3 local schools. Local leaders will manage training and reinvest profits to train the next group
In 2 years, Lilis Community Bakery will be self-sustaining and community-run. Bread profits will fund free training for new youth every term. We'll graduate 200+ bakers, reduce youth unemployment, and feed 500+ school children with affordable bread. When a community owns the solution, one bakery can change hundreds of lives for generations
