There are many pupils in Primary schools who do not have school uniforms yet its a requirement for every child to wear uniforms. The Uganda government under the Universal Primary Education pays school fees for them but does not provide other scholastic materials like books, food, shoes, uniforms, etc. When trouble knocks, no one will be able to identify them on the street as a student.
In case any trouble knocks, it becomes difficult to identify them on the street as students,these pupils do not have school uniforms simply because their guardians can not afford them yet its a requirement for all school children, when they are warned several times, the school authorities send them back home, making them miss lessons for several weeks or even months, some completely drop out of school.
Every needy child will be made their own school uniforms depending on the colour of their school uniform, one tailor has been identified who will make uniforms for all our identifies kids. Kids will get two pairs each to enable them keep clean through the week while in school.
Even the needy kids will be enabled to compete with the well off pupils in schools as they will no longer need to miss classes due to lack of school uniforms., school enrollment will improve as well as retention.
