This project is constructing a Primary School as well as a vocational center to benefit over 400 vulnerable children in Mpigi District. The school will be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES). Children will be provided with all round Education from Kindergarten up to primary seven and this will enable them to obtain a Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) certificate at the Center which qualifies them for vocational training.
Community caretakers have not been in position to provide necessary items for children to continue school, schools are far from them yet costly for many, this has left especially the orphans and more Vulnerable Children disadvantaged. Most orphans have not been able to continue with education because of poverty-stricken families that do not have the necessities within their families to cater for them.
Mountains of Hope owns two acres of land where this school is being built, so your contribution will go directly towards building a community school. The facility will house both a primary school as well as a vocational school. The school's additional land will be made into a vegetable patch and small farm. This will make the school self-sustaining and teach the children practical farming skills. Eventually, they will be able to provide for themselves once they leave school.
The Primary as well as vocational school are under the management of Mountains of Hope for proper effectiveness and management with consistent reporting and government inspection. The project is among the few projects that provide this kind of program in Uganda.
This project has provided additional documentation in a DOCX file (projdoc.docx).
