Rebuilding Children's Live after the Chennai Flood
 
Cry has worked in the flood relief and rescue operations in the Vyasarbadi area . Now following are the aims of the project in phase 3. Aim is to empower the children of Vyasarpadi through critical life skills concepts towards a free and emancipated childhood even in the most difficult of situations. To build awareness among the critical stakeholders of parents and community on preventive measures to ensure child safety, protection and emotional as well as physical health in disaster.
Chennai floods- Help children rebuild their lives
 
Chennai is now battling the after effects of the torrential rains, seen as the worst that the city has experienced in the last 100 years. CRY's intervention area in Vyasarpadi, Chennai is one of the largest slums in Tamil Nadu and is seriously affected. The situation of children is alarming there. Sewage water has flooded homes and risk of disease is high. Food and rations are scarce and drinking water is unavailable. Education & Health via Sports to Indian Slum Kids
 
The project uses sports as a medium to bring together 1594 children in 6 urban slums of Chennai under one platform, build confidence & a sense of self-worth among them, and provide them with better educational and healthcare facilities, and thus bring about a visible change in their lives. The project also works with the parents of these children on the issues like Child Labor, Child Marriages, sensitize them on the issues and work towards mainstreaming the effected children back into schools. project reportread updates from the field

Healthy Start-Ensure immunization to 30513 babies
 
The first 5 years play a significant role in a child's life. But, for thousands of children, growing up well continues to be a distant dream. Long before they turn 5, their physical, emotional and cognitive growth is irreversibly hampered by lack of adequate nutrition and healthcare. You can make a difference by giving them a 'healthy start'. Support immunization of 42971 children in India
 
Only 56% of the children in India get full immunization. For 1 in every 20 children in India, the 1st birthday might never happen. To address the problem, CRY is focusing on ensuring complete immunizations for 42,430 children between the ages of 0 - 12 months in 3500 villages across India, during the month of July and August, by 1. All children have the right to enjoy their childhood and live a life of dignity. However, child labour is a reality millions of children in India face.
