Children in the state of Jammu & Kashmir face huge challenges to have a normal childhood - to go to school, to play and to express themselves. YOU can help them.
The conflict situation in Jammu and Kashmir is extremely difficult for children, who are amongst the most vulnerable and worst affected. In the background of constant fear, violence and disruption of routine, these children struggle to access basic necessities like education, health and the space to play and express themselves.
CRY - with the help of its on ground partners in the state runs Child Activity Centers or CACs which provide a space for these children to play, express themselves and talk about issues that are important to them. Using theatre, music, drawing and sports these centers work with children at various areas within the state - to restore some level of normalcy in their lives.
These centers also work with a curriculum approved by the state government so that children can continue their studies even during periods of unrest - when schools might be shut. The staff at these centers constantly engage with the children through play and conversations to act as a support system and encourage children to express themselves.
