As part of our initiative to empower Nigerian women in the rural areas, with microgrants under the U-Fund for Women, plans are underway to empower 100 women selected from across the country.
A total of two million naira (N2,000,000) has been set aside for this project and the disbursement will take place at the grand finale of our annual Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, scheduled to hold on December 03, 2024 at the Nicon Luxury Hotels, Abuja.
At the event, we shall have the Nigerian Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development to distribute the small grants to the women.
You may wish to recall that on March 08, 2024, during the International Women's Day, we adopted members of the Association of Women living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria as beneficiaries of our microgrants, in order to ameliorate their sufferings by helping them start up small businesses in their communities.
