Overview:
The Ugwumba U-Fund for Women 2026 was a resounding success, celebrated as part of the International Women’s Day (IWD) festivities and the Ugwumba Women Academy Conference, which took place virtually on March 12, 2026. This initiative reflects our dedication to empowering women, particularly those in underserved and rural areas, by providing them with financial support and opportunities for personal development. The sum of 50,00 Naira was given to each female petty trader to help boost thier immediate business

Objectives:

- To financially empower selected women, especially petty traders and grassroots entrepreneurs
- To inspire and equip women through knowledge-sharing and mentorship
- To foster a culture of giving and community-driven impact among women

Programme Highlights:
The event showcased a lineup of dynamic and inspiring speakers from various fields, including business, leadership, personal development, and social impact. These sessions offered participants valuable insights, motivation, and practical tools to enhance their economic and personal growth.

Beneficiaries:
We selected 100 women petty traders for empowerment support under the U-Fund initiative, following thorough needs assessments in rural areas. These beneficiaries were chosen from our extensive community network, which covers all 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT. The women selected are primarily small-scale entrepreneurs and petty traders who will use the funds to support and grow their businesses.

Implementation Process:

- Engaging discussions during the virtual conference
- Transparent and random selection of beneficiaries
- Direct disbursement of funds to beneficiaries after verifying their details

Impact:

- Immediate financial relief and business support for beneficiaries
- Boosted motivation and confidence among participants
- Enhanced community engagement and participation in women-focused initiatives
Boosting the visibility of grassroots women entrepreneurs

Accountability & Transparency:
Every step of the process—from selection to fund distribution—was carried out with a strong commitment to transparency and accountability. Beneficiaries needed to provide their information privately to ensure proper documentation and verification before receiving any funds.

Conclusion:
The Ugwumba U-Fund for Women 2026 initiative turned out to be a significant success, showcasing the impact of collective giving and purposeful empowerment. Through this initiative, we are dedicated to our mission of changing lives by uplifting women, fully aware that when a woman thrives, the positive effects ripple through families, communities, and society as a whole.
