Dear Global Giving Community,
The activities for this period have been about winding up our just concluded project. We are currently tying up the final loose ends for the training in diplomacy and international relations in terms of settling expenses, communicating evaluations etc.
In the meantime, we also begun planning for our next project. We are reviving our Tibetan communities program. Specifically, we seek to restart the work on developing the Youth Leadership Training focussed on cultural preservation for the Tibetan community. The youth leadership training is to be conducted for undergraduate Tibetan youth studying in various universities around India.
This week, we have had a few meetings among those working on this training to develop the modules for the training. As a first step, we restarted the conversation with the Central Tibetan Administration to understand their goals, and desired outcomes from a youth leadership training. In addition, the project officers have also begun to conduct research to flesh out the modules of the training, write up the budget and plan the logistics for conducting the training in Dharamsala, India during the summer of 2016. The budget for this training is $5000. The budget includes the trainer expenses, expenses for housing the participants and the expenses to fly down a Native American youth leader who will serve as an example of youth leadership working towards cultural preservation in other world contexts. The Native American community and the Tibetan community share common concerns of cultural preservation and this would be an excellent opportunity for both communities to exchange ideas on their work.
A brief outline of the training modules will be provided in the next report report.
Please donate generously to make the project a reality!!!
