Tibetan Peacebuilding and Leadership Training

Thank you for your continued support of our projects. The Tibetan Youth Leadership Training was put on hold for a bit as we needed to divert our attention to other pressing concerns. We have recently begun to refocus on both the Tibet projects soon. Work on the Tibetan Youth Leadership Training and the Training in Diplomacy for Tibetan diplomats is expected to be finalized by July. Currently, our project officers are fleshing out the details of the modules for the Youth Leadership Training and recruiting trainers both from within India as well as outside India. We are looking for a trainer from communities outside India that are engaged in youth leadership training with an emphasis on cultural preservation. Your suggestions are welcome!!

Dear Global Giving Community,

We are continuing to work on developing a Youth Leadership Training focused on cultural preservation for the Tibetan community. This training will take place in Dharamsala, India over the span of 5 days.

We are working with the Central Tibetan Administration to solidify the intended outcomes of the conference, identify the target audience, and develop the format of the training. We have also been developing modules tailored to the goals of the conference. 

The current plan is to spend the first day focusing on “Problem Identification and Analysis.” The modules on this day will instruct participants on how to identify problems, analyze the origins and multiple perceptions of the problems, and examine possible solutions. Day two will focus on “How to Create a Roadmap to Achieve Your Vision.” Participants will explore funding and social media resources that they could use to support their visions for how to achieve their specific goals. Day three will engage participants in the power they possess, as youth, to affect change. The topic will be “Examples of Youth Leadership.” During the modules on day three, participants will examine case studies of youth leaders from different regions around the world. On day four, participants will focus on “Developing their roadmaps.” They will spend the day outlining the steps involved in achieving their plan and completing a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis on it. On the concluding day, participants will present their plans to one another and the group will debrief what they learned from the conference. 

The budget for this training is $5000. This budget includes the trainer expenses and expenses for housing the participants.
