Tibetan Peacebuilding and Leadership Training

Thank you to all of our donors for your generous support over the last three months and especially during the April challenge. During the month of April we raised an amazing $4,415 from 76 unique donors for the Tibetan Peace-building and Leadership Training! Thanks to those who donated during the challenge, the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy can continue to use this site and all its valuable resources in our mission to promote peace around the world, starting with helping Tibetans in Diaspora build a better future for themselves. 

Since April, we have been busy!

• FUNDING: We are securing the rest of the funding we need through a number of meetings with past high-profile donors and their representatives. These meetings have gone exceedingly well and we expect that the funds we receive from past loyal donors, combined with our GlobalGiving funds will cover the expenses of the training.
• STAFF TRAINING: IMTD sent two staff members to an intensive training on Facilitation in Complex Environments at the United States Institute of Peace. This training has equipped our staff to co-facilitate the leadership training alongside our Director of Training, Dr. Eileen Borris.
• REACHING OUT: We have been reaching out to our training participants from last year's Bangalore Peace and Reconciliation training to gauge interest in rejoining us for a new program this year. So far, we have gotten an enthusiastic response.

When asked if he would like to participate in the leadership training this year, one of our participants from last year, a Tibetan monk and teacher from the Tibetan Bylakuppe Settlement in South India, said this: "I am really very happy to get an opportunity attend in the program in Dharamsala. Last year I got lot of information as well as knowledge on how to deal with problem in our society as well as our own life. I am very happy to learn and help as much as I can." We are excited to work with such motivated people who are so dedicated to learning and improving their own lives through peace.

We still have lots of work to do, so let's keep going!
