Dear Supporter,
Today, we are honored to share a story of survival that your generosity helped make possible.
Baby Mohammed was born in northern Syria at only 24 weeks of pregnancy, weighing just 1,150 grams. From his first breath, he faced a dangerous battle for life.
His family could not afford treatment at a private hospital, and his mother had been unable to receive regular medical care during pregnancy. When Mohammed arrived at our neonatal intensive care unit, his condition was extremely fragile.
He suffered repeated episodes of respiratory distress, and the risk of losing him remained present every day.
For 40 difficult days, his parents waited between fear and hope while our medical team monitored him around the clock, provided intensive treatment, and did everything possible to keep his tiny body fighting.
Then came the news everyone had prayed for.
Mohammed’s condition improved, and he was discharged from the hospital weighing 1,700 grams.
But his care did not end when he left the intensive care unit. Our team continued following his progress and guided his mother on how to care for him safely at home. Day by day, Mohammed continued to grow, gaining approximately 30 grams daily.
Your support helped provide the incubator care, medical treatment, monitoring, and expertise that gave Mohammed a chance to survive.
Thank you for standing with newborns at their most vulnerable moment. Because of you, a mother carried her baby home instead of leaving the hospital with an unbearable loss.
Mohammed’s journey reminds us that timely care can mean the difference between life and death.
Together, we are giving fragile newborns more than treatment—we are giving them their first chance at life.
With heartfelt gratitude,
